Spring Trip 2010:

The option for a visit to New Lanark was preferred. It maybe possible to visit the RHS show in Cardiff at a later date if the demand is there.

TRIP TO NEW LANARK WORLD HERITAGE SITE, SCOTLAND
4 or 5 Nights in May

New Lanark Heritage Site and Hotel are situated less than one hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and the Borders with fantastic views over the River Clyde and the surrounding conservation area. Riverside walking to the Falls of Clyde on wide flat paths and peregrin falcon watching are among the outdoor activities in this scenic area. The facilities at the Hotel include a full fitness centre and a swimming pool.

The Village itself offers a historic experience showing the importance of better housing, healthy living conditions, and schooling etc for mill workers and their families. One passport ticket gives entry to all the attractions in the village.
We hope to offer some of the following in this trip:
One day to see the Village itself and perhaps walk to the Falls of Clyde,
One day to sightsee in Edinburgh or take the train to Glasgow which is rich in culture,
Edinburgh Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and/or Royal Yacht Britannia
A visit to the Dawyck Gardens near Peebles. If time permits, we will look at the possibility of visiting the Falk Wheel, Loch Lomond and Stirling.
